Important Notes for Eligibility

-Students must complete at least one year in an orchestra before progressing to the next group (i.e. no skipping from Debut Orchestra to Classical Orchestra).

-Grade ranges overlap in the orchestras. Placement decisions are made with a careful blend of school grade level, experience, and artistic merit.

Who Needs to Record a Video

No Internal Audition Necessary

-Musicians in Debut, Philharmonic, and Classical Orchestras who want to remain in their 2025-2026 (Current) Ensemble for 2026-2027.

-Musicians in Philharmonic who are currently in ninth grade (these students will be placed in Classical Orchestra)

Required to Complete an Internal Audition 

-Any musician currently in Symphony Orchestra. Current Symphony Orchestra students only need to submit the audition materials for Symphony Orchestra, not Classical and Symphony. The Internal Transfer Application and Audition Materials are due by May 16, 2026 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

-Any musician who is currently in Philharmonic Orchestra and wants to be considered for Classical Orchestra (current 8th graders are the only students eligible). The Internal Transfer Application and Audition Materials are due by March 13, 2026 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

-Any musician who is in Debut and wants to audition for Philharmonic Orchestra (students currently in 7th and 8th grade are eligible for this). The Internal Transfer Application and Audition Materials are due by March 13, 2026 at 11:59 P.M. CST.

-Any musician who is in Classical Orchestra and wants to audition for Symphony Orchestra (currently in 10th or 11th grade). The Internal Transfer Application and Audition Materials are due by May 16, 2026 at 11:59 P.M. CST.
