Amanda Kremer

Amanda Kremer is originally from Willard, MO. Her love for classical music started as young pianist at the age of 5 and her training as a classical ballet dancer performing in numerous classical ballets and a few operas from age 8-18. Joining her school band and choir in 6th grade, Amanda knew as an 8th grader that she wanted to be a music teacher when she grew up. She is thankful for her choral and instrumental music teachers for guiding her and giving her leadership opportunities throughout the middle & high school years. Amanda graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Instrumental and Vocal Music Education with an emphasis in piano performance. During college Amanda performed with the MSU symphony orchestra, concert chorale, wind ensemble, marching band, jazz band, Brass and Sass and was the jazz vocalist for the Dues Band.
After graduation, Amanda moved to Minneapolis and taught middle school band in Edina, MN for 12 years. She played horn and performed with the Minnesota Symphonic Winds under the direction of Timothy Mahr performing at Midwest Clinic. Amanda completed her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and had the pleasure to be the conductor for the Sinfonia Orchestra with The Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphony. Amanda is grateful for the teachers, directors & colleagues along the way that inspired her and sparked the passion of teaching music to young people. Amanda and her husband moved to Overland Park, Kan. in 2015 where she stayed home with her three daughters for 9 years while also working with the Youth Symphony of Kansas City. Amanda is currently the band director at Harmony Middle School in the Blue Valley School District, she is in her 15th year of teaching middle school band and 10th year with YSKC!
