About YSKC Academy
YSKC Academy offers a unique opportunity for current YSKC students to develop all aspects of their musicianship in a creative learning environment—and form strong bonds and lifelong friendships along the way. This year, YSKC Academy’s chamber music program has expanded to include four string quartets, one string sextet, a wind quintet and a brass quintet.
Additionally, YSKC Academy includes Introduction to Chamber Music (for students grades 5-8) and Advanced Chamber Music, both of which rehearse regularly on Sundays and perform their own concerts throughout the academic year.
Opportunities for Artistic Development
Our groundbreaking elective courses at YSKC allow students to play chamber music, develop aural and theory skills, general musicianship and a deeper understanding of musical performance and history. In addition, Academy students will be offered Masterclasses, workshops with distinguished performers and a variety of additional performing opportunities to perform solo and chamber music in both informal performance platforms and major concerts across the KC Metro area.
