The KC Classical Festival: Growth Through Music is a showcase of the region’s brightest young classical talent. Bringing together two YSKC ensembles (Classical and Symphony Orchestras) with four additional youth orchestras from across the Kansas City metro, this extraordinary evening celebrates the power of collaboration and the shared joy of music-making.

Audiences will experience the future of classical music as hundreds of young musicians join forces in one of the nation’s premier concert halls, highlighting the depth, diversity, and promise of the next generation.

Event Schedule

• 11:30 AM – YSKC Symphony Orchestra arrives
• 12:00–3:00 PM – Symphony rehearsal
• 2:30 PM – YSKC Classical Orchestra arrives
• 3:00–4:10 PM – Classical Orchestra sound check
• 3:45 PM – Guest youth orchestras arrive
• 4:15–6:00 PM – Guest orchestra sound checks
• 6:00 PM – House doors open
• 6:30 PM – Festival concert begins
• ~9:30 PM – Concert concludes 

Additional Details

• Concert attire required for all student performers
• Tickets required for audience members (through the Kauffman Center Box Office)
• All YSKC students are expected to attend and support the portions of the program in which they are not performing, seated in designated sections
